Cognizant terminates Americas president

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. (NASDAQ: CTSH) reported today that it terminated the employment of Gregory Hyttenrauch, executive VP and president, Americas, effective immediately, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Hyttenrauch was terminated because of behavior inconsistent with company policy, according to the SEC filings. Hyttenrauch began his career in the Canadian military, where he spent 13 years and rose to the rank of captain.

The IT services firm has appointed Surya Gummadi as interim leader of Cognizant Americas. Gummadi has been with Cognizant since 2000 and most recently served as the senior VP and head of the company’s healthcare and life sciences business.
