Diversity, equity and inclusion has taken on greater importance after the events of 2020 and it’s continuing this year.

Staffing Industry Analysts is now accepting nominations for its new Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Influencers — US and Canada list. It aims to recognize those leaders in organizations who are heading up the charge to make real change in their organizations. Click here for more information.

Separately, the survey will soon open to gather information for SIA’s annual list of Diversity-Owned Staffing Firms. Last year’s list of Diversity-Owned Staffing Firms featured 160 staffing providers.

Both lists are scheduled to appear in the May/June 2021 issue of Staffing Industry Review magazine.

And this week’s Staffing Word of the Week is “diversity supplier.” SIA’s free, online Lexicon defines diversity supplier as:

“In North America, this refers to a minority-, woman-, disabled- or veteran-owned staffing supplier. Organizations often find that using diversity suppliers as part of their staffing supplier base is a good way to meet their diversity recruitment goals. In Europe, a Diversity Supplier could be taken to mean a supplier with an equal opportunities policy in place, which ensures equal treatment for workers from disadvantaged minority groups.”
