  • This new appointment will be an Executive Member of the Board of Directors at each Trust and report to the Group Chief Executive Officer, Simon Weldon.

On 1st July 2020, Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KGH) and Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust (NGH) established a group model to develop greater collaboration between the two hospitals in the further delivery of high quality, patient focussed clinical services supported by pooled corporate resources to enable better outcomes for local people.

This innovative approach is not about two organisations merging, but looking at how the two Trusts can work better together and make the most of joint resources and highly skilled teams to address future healthcare challenges, including rising population and increased life expectancy, as well as the Covid-19 pandemic.

The key responsibility of the Group CDIO is to provide vision, technical leadership and strategic direction in the delivery of the digital and technology aims of both Trusts to enable wider improvements across the group in quality, efficiency and business effectiveness.

The Group has the ambition to become a university hospitals group and, with major capital investment approved by the Secretary of State, is planning to reshape the estate and its technology assets to rival many of the most modern acute care facilities and attract the best available talent on the market. KGH also aims to become the most digital hospital in England by July 2023.

The county’s diverse population of around 700,000 people is one of the most rapidly growing in England. Collectively, the two Trusts have 1,440 beds, a revenue budget of over £500m and approximately 10,000 staff.

The salary for this role is up to £145,000 per annum plus relocation. The closing date is 20th November 2020 and interviews will be held on 15th December 2020.
