News Release

The American Staffing Association is proud to announce it has joined the Women Business Collaborative Staffing Leadership Council as a founding member to accelerate diversity, equity, and inclusion in the staffing and recruiting industry. Other council partners include Staffing Industry Analysts, TechServe Alliance, and executive-level representatives of several staffing and recruiting agencies.

The WBC Staffing Leadership Council is concentrating on three key objectives to address issues of gender parity and equity:

  • Educate—Gather data, establish benchmarks, and build metrics for progress
  • Elevate—Build broad industry awareness and leverage work through the pillars of the WBC
  • Activate—Identify opportunities to make a difference and track results across the staffing industry

The council is launching its efforts by conducting an industry-wide survey to understand the social identities among women in staffing. The analyzed results will be used to help improve the representation of women in leadership roles in staffing.

Staffing professionals are highly encouraged to participate in the survey by Aug. 1, 2020. Visit surveymonkey.com/r/DFFMB6G to take the survey.

“ASA is delighted to partner with WBC to support the advancement of women into senior positions in the staffing industry,” said Leo Sheridan, ASA chairman of the board and Advance Group president and chief executive officer. “This effort aligns with ASA’s ongoing women in leadership initiative. We know that partnerships like this are critical to creating more equitable organizations in staffing.”

“WBC is honored to collaborate with these thought leaders to redouble our efforts in support of our mission to accelerate the advancement of all women in business, especially women of color,” said Edie Fraser, WBC CEO. “Representation by the three top industry associations, alongside a remarkable bench of staffing leaders, is a testament to the industry’s commitment to create a more just and equitable workplace.”
