Organizers of the HR Technology Conference and Exposition have announced that COVID-19 vaccinations will be required for entry to the event next month in Las Vegas, a move that has since been adopted for two other large technology events.

HR Tech’s policy is designed to help ensure the health and wellbeing of all participants at the conference, which takes place from Sept. 28-Oct. 1 at Mandalay Bay, said Rebecca McKenna, vice president, global events and publisher at LRP Media Group. It was announced late last week ahead of a press release sent Aug. 17.

“We’re excited to get to see you in Las Vegas next month and look forward to hosting a safe and rewarding event for you! During the past 18 months, we’ve all missed the meaningful in-person interactions that typically take place at HR Tech,” the conference team wrote in an email sent Monday to participants. “After assessing the current climate, we’ve determined the best way to help everyone feel more comfortable at HR Tech as well as to provide a further wellness safeguard is to require all HR Tech 2021 participants to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19.”

To support the vaccination policy, the conference will partner with a third-party vendor to assist with verification. Details will be announced soon. For more information on the policy and the latest information, visit hrtechnologyconference.com.

Organizers of CES 2022 and NAB Show 2021 both announced vaccination requirements for their events this week. The Consumer Technology Association said Aug. 17 that vaccinations will be required for attendees and exhibitors at CES 2022, being held Jan. 5-8 in Las Vegas. The National Association of Broadcasters announced Aug. 18 that participants at its trade show for the media, entertainment and tech industries must be vaccinated to attend its event, set for Oct. 9-13, also in Las Vegas.
