SSi People announced today it acquired Townsend & Associates, a staffing firm based in Morris Plains, New Jersey. SSi intends for the deal to increase its footprint in the life sciences market, particularly in New Jersey. The deal closed last Friday.
“Townsend & Associates has a talented team that will enable us to collectively improve services and delivery to all of our life science customers,” said Ronald Seibert, president and CEO of SSi People.
Seibert said SSi, formerly Software Specialists Inc., plans to increase its growth both organically and through future acquisitions.
A new website for the combined companies will be available later this summer.
Michael Townsend, who founded Townsend and Associates, said the deal was a milestone in the evolution of both companies and the combined firm will be reinforcing growth efforts. Townsend will remain with the company post acquisition.
