According to a recent survey, it is the Millennials and Generation Z who are suffering the most when it comes to a lack of confidence with regards to getting or retaining a job at the moment.

LinkedIn’s latest Workforce Confidence Index surveyed 3,000 UK professionals and found that their job confidence has fallen by 18% in the past two weeks, compared to the Baby boomers, who’s confidence grew by 15% in the same timeframe.

In particular, Millennials are feeling most insecure with regards to their ability to progress their careers next year, whereas, Generation Z’s are a lot more optimistic about their long-term career outlook.

Janine Chamberlin, director of talent solutions at LinkedIn, commented on the latest findings, “There’s no doubt that times are extremely tough right now for young people entering the job market or those in the early stages of their career who are adapting to a very different way of working.

“We can all do more to support them – from offering job seekers advice through our networks to help them find an opportunity and land a job, creating opportunities to help them gain new skills, and keeping our teams connected by creating a sense of belonging virtually.”
