Initial jobless claims totaled 1.5 million last week; it’s the 10th-straight week of deceleration, but claims remain elevated amid the Covid-19 pandemic, CNBC reported. Last week’s numbers were better than expected. However, since the start of the crisis, more than 44 million workers have filed initial unemployment claims.
