The Seattle City Council on Tuesday approved a minimum wage for app-based delivery independent contractor drivers, Axios reported. The legislation aims to provide drivers with a wage roughly equal to Seattle’s minimum wage of $17.27 per hour. The measure was opposed by DoorDash. It argued the rules increase costs and cause customers to place fewer orders, ultimately hurting drivers.
