Staffing hours worked up 10% year over year last week

Hours worked in the US staffing industry rose 10% year over year in the week ended March 19, continuing a pattern of growth observed throughout the past year, according to the latest SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator, released today. On a week-over-week basis, staffing hours fell by 0.8%, confirming a modest pullback since the recent peak met during the week ended Feb. 26, which coincided with the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

The SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator measures hours worked. It comprises two sets of analyses: a year-over-year comparison showing how the most recent week compared to the same week 12 months previously and an indexed value that has been benchmarked against data from the week ended Jan. 19, 2019.
