Legal staffing provider Axiom acquired Plexus Engage, a subsidiary of Australia-based legal technology company Plexus. The move provides Axiom an entry into the Australian market.

Plexus Engage provides lawyers for in-house legal teams to support projects or augment capacity. It has more than 80 active and bench lawyers serving a diverse portfolio of clients.

“Plexus Engage provides Axiom with an experienced team with a proven track record of driving both growth and profitability in the Australian market,” Axiom CEO David McVeigh said. “This acquisition is a natural extension of our current business in the APAC region, and we plan to invest heavily in this business to drive growth in Australia and adjacent geographic markets.”

Axiom is the largest legal staffing firm in the US, according to SIA. It’s based in New York.

General manager of Plexus Engage, Richard Kohinga, will continue to lead the organization as a subsidiary of Axiom Global Australia. Kohinga’s new title will be Axiom Global Australia general manager.

Terms of the transaction were not announced.

Going forward, Axiom will adopt Plexus’ technology.
