COVID19 News Release

As part of its efforts to lead employer vaccine literacy in the staffing and recruiting industry, the American Staffing Association accepted the Business Partners to CONVINCE Global Covid-19 Workplace Challenge. The challenge was launched last month to promote Covid-19 vaccine acceptance among private sector employers and workers.

ASA and other members of the Business Partners to CONVINCE (Covid -19 New Vaccine Information, Communication, and Engagement) steering team jointly agreed to develop vaccine literacy strategies based on science, facts, and emerging information. To support this effort, ASA recently launched a microsite with a variety of resources all employers—not just staffing agencies—can use to engage and educate their workforces about the vaccines.

By joining the challenge, ASA agrees to:

  • Listen to employee needs and concerns about the impact and prevention of Covid-19
  • Follow the latest public health guidance to protect the association, its employees, its workplace, and community from Covid-19
  • Promote vaccine literacy based on the latest scientific evidence of vaccination benefits and risks
  • Encourage vaccine confidence and uptake
  • Advocate for accessible, equitable, and timely vaccination of employees
  • Engage with communities, schools, faith-based organizations, and public health leaders to stop the spread of Covid-19

“ASA is committed to providing resources to member staffing agencies in support of Covid-19 vaccine literacy as this education is absolutely critical in getting people back to work safely and improving the economy in the U.S. and around the globe,” said Brittany Sakata, Esq., ASA associate general counsel. “ASA encourages its members to follow the association’s lead and join the Business Partners to CONVINCE Global Covid-19 Workplace Challenge to show their dedication to vaccine literacy in their own companies.”

“The potential for business to engage meaningfully in the growing international movement to address Covid with evidence-based vaccine literacy strategies is massive,” said Scott Ratzan, MD, Business Partners to CONVINCE executive director and global CONVINCE co-founder. “Employers have the trust, respect, and reach to support vaccine confidence with communication and education initiatives at the global, national, and local levels.”
