Jobs website operator iHire completed its acquisition of WorkInSports, a careers website focused on sports jobs. The deal was first announced last month.
The transaction closed April 8; terms were not disclosed.
WorkInSports has a distributed workforce across the US and Canada with approximately 10 employees joining the iHire team and continuing to work remotely. WorkInSports CEO John Mellor will step back to focus on his health and will not be involved in the day-to-day operation.
Phoenix-based WorkInSports now officially operates as the 57th industry-focused community in iHire’s family of talent brands. Launched in 2000, it has 8,000 sports employers nationwide actively posting openings.
Platform integration is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, but no disruptions to accounts is expected.
IHire is based in Frederick, Maryland.
