Mexico proposal would make platform firms recognize workers as employees (Bloomberg Línea)

The Mexican government is planning a reform initiative that — if approved by Mexico’s Congress — would require work service platforms such as Uber and DiDi to recognize workers as employees, Bloomberg Línea reported. It would create a special chapter on these platforms in federal labor law and put an end to classifying workers as “partners” or “service providers,” Bloomberg Línea reported.
