Mitchell Martin Inc. acquired ingenium, a New York City-based staffing firm that specializes in placing technical and product talent at emerging technology companies and startups. The deal closed on Oct. 1.

“Our acquisition of ingenium offers benefits in scale, innovation and expertise,” said Josh Holtzman, executive VP at Mitchell Martin.

Ingenium was founded 14 years ago by Rick Dionisio, the company’s president. The acquisition will enable ingenium to provide more services to its existing client base, including permanent placement, staff augmentation, RPO/bulk staffing and payroll services, according to the companies. Plans call for ingenium to operate out of Mitchell Martin’s New York City headquarters, and the ingenium brand will remain at this time.

Dionisio will remain with the combined company as senior VP, ingenium division.

“The organization that Mitchell Martin has built is amazing,” Dionisio said. “I was struck by the energy, creativity and entrepreneurial mindset of a company so large and well established. MMI really operates like a 38-year-old startup.”

Terms of the transaction were not announced.

Mitchell Martin ranks among the largest US staffing firms. The ingenium acquisition follows Mitchell Martin’s 2021 acquisition of TransTech IT Staffing in Chicago.
