Demand for skilled trades jobs has risen over past three months, according to an analysis by PeopleReady Skilled Trades, a specialized division of industrial staffing provider PeopleReady. Demand for carpenters rose by 23%, while demand for stonemasons increased 45% and demand for construction laborers rose by 18%.

Overall, there have been more than 770,000 unique skilled trades job postings from nearly 95,000 employers since the beginning of the year, including nearly 200,000 last month alone.

PeopleReady said it is recognizing May as “Respect the Craft Month” to recognize tradespeople.

“While we Respect the Craft throughout the year, we dedicate the month of May to recognize our extraordinary skilled labor and tradespeople across the country,” Jill Quinn, executive leader of PeopleReady Skilled Trades, said in a press release. “Tradespeople keep our communities running smoothly, and it’s our privilege to shine the spotlight on their vital contributions.”

Separately, PeopleReady announced that it is the official staffing partner for the second consecutive season at the 2023 NTT IndyCar Series, and it will be handling the staffing needs of the Indy 500 this Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
