The venture capital arm of global staffing provider Recruit Holdings Co. Ltd. led a $15 million series B funding round in Steady, a provider of apps that helps gig economy workers find work as well as enables them to track and manage their incomes.

Steady cites Shaquille O’Neal as an ambassador/investor in the company.

The deal calls for Atlanta-based Steady to appoint an additional director to its board from Recruit’s venture capital arm.

Others taking part in the series B funding round include Flourish Ventures, Loeb Enterprises, Propel Venture Partners and CMFG Ventures.

Steady also reported that it launched an initiative in April to help workers find jobs quickly and provide telehealth support. It is offering free telemedicine subscriptions to its members through Aug. 1.

In February, Steady appointed Winn Martin as its chief data officer. Martin joined Steady from Kabbage, where he was head of data insights.

Steady was founded in 2018.
