Some hospitals paying $8,000 per week for nurses (NBC)

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic is causing hospitals to compete for nurses and pay is increasing, sometimes to $8,000 or $10,000 per week, NBC reports. The competition for nurses is national as Covid-19 is surging across the country. Some hospitals are looking at ways to handle the challenges without doing too much damage to their budgets; these include changing nurse-to-patient ratios and, in Utah, working with the state to allow nursing students in their final years of training to be certified early.
